    Hello everyone,

Great ideas today! Lets use this thread to discuss what we are planning to include in our research toolkit/training/certificate program. What kinds of things would be helpful? Please post them here.

    Great meeting you all!

One of the areas I think we struggle with is statistics and more statistics. I would love something on the “Things I think I learned in pharmacy school but didn’t actually understand, and I still don’t understand.” Going over basic descriptive stats, how data is organized, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, NNT/NTH.

Maybe we could include a section on what statistics can be done in excel? Also I see residents struggling with figuring out if their data is normally distributed. I catch them using the wrong tests because they were not aware of how to check.

I agree and think this is a great idea. I often find our residents don’t know which statistical test to use and how to correctly identify the distribution and different types of data.

I love this idea! Sometimes that’s our only stats functionality we have if we can’t get fancy statistical programs!
