At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Evaluate the evidence behind three common emergency medicine pharmacotherapy practices: opioid-associated nausea prophylaxis, “B52” chemical restraint, and refractory migraine management.
2. Recommend evidence-based pharmacologic strategies for nausea, acute agitation, and refractory migraine in the emergency department.
3. Evaluate patients with toxicologic exposures, hazmat incidents, and disaster-related emergencies.
4. Select appropriate pharmacologic and supportive strategies for toxicologic or mass-casualty emergencies.
