What qualifications do I need for Full Membership?
Full membership is available to pharmacists who devote at least 50% of their professional duties to emergency medicine pharmacy, toxicology, or related research/consultancy, and who meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of a PGY2 residency in emergency medicine or toxicology
- The equivalent of at least 3 years (within the last 7) practicing at least 50% in emergency medicine
- Board Certification as an Emergency Medicine Pharmacist (BCEMP)
- Diplomate of the American Board of Applied Toxicology (DABAT)
- An equivalent credential as determined by the Membership Committee
What is the Founding Member opportunity?
Founding Members are those who join SEMP during our inaugural membership drive. As a Founding Member, you'll receive:
- Special recognition on our website and at events
- A commemorative Founding Member certificate
- Extended membership through April 2026 (additional months of membership)
- The opportunity to help shape the direction of SEMP from the beginning

When does the membership year begin and end?
Regular SEMP memberships typically run for one year from the date of joining. However, during our founding period, all memberships will extend through April 2026, providing additional months of membership at no extra cost.
After this initial period, memberships will renew annually based on your join date. We'll send renewal notices 30 days before your membership expires.
How can I get involved in SEMP committees?
SEMP offers numerous committee opportunities for members. You can indicate your committee interests during the membership registration process, or contact us at any time to express interest.
